All members must agree to these rules. They're part of our Terms and your booking contract. They keep everyone safe and stays smooth.
Why these rules exist
Our hosts use GapNights to fill short gaps in their calendars. We ask for easy, respectful, and tidy guests so every stay runs smoothly. The 2-adult cap and no-visitors policy limit wear and tear and give hosts confidence. Quiet hours and no parties protect neighbours and keep GapNights welcome in residential areas.
Ground rules (Trust Pledge)
By creating an account and booking, you agree to:
No parties
Keep the stay calm for your host and neighbours. Parties and events are strictly prohibited.
No visitors
Only booked guests may be on the property. No extra visitors during your stay.
Max 2 adults per stay, up to 3 children
Keeps things simple for hosts and ensures a good fit for short stays. When hosts permit children under 16, up to 3 children can stay (or the listing's max, whichever is lower).
Quiet hours respected
Be mindful of noise so hosts and neighbours can rest. We enforce a quiet-stay policy.
Damage or mess may result in fees and account suspension
We work with you and the host to resolve any issues. Serious or repeated violations can result in fees and account suspension.
Host protections
Hosts can set additional house rules (e.g. check-in time, parking, no smoking). Guests are required to follow both our community guidelines and the host's rules. If a guest violates the Trust Pledge or house rules, we work with the host to resolve (e.g. damage claims, early termination). Repeated or serious violations can result in account suspension.
Enforcement
We take reports from hosts and guests seriously. Violations may result in warnings, fees, or account suspension. In serious cases we may report to authorities. If you experience or witness a violation, contact us at support@gapnights.co.nz.
